Mmmm Mmmm.

I took this picture of Dave about 12 - 13 years ago when we were first dating... but after he cut all of his luscious hair off (sorry I will have to find a picture of it and post one another day).  I love this picture of him... he is SO handsome!  I keep it pinned to the wall right next to my computer.  I like to look at it and today I decided to snap a quick picture of it.  A picture of a picture... weird.

2 plays 1 day.

Today I had the pleasure of seeing two original plays.  One about the tooth fairy, the other about Rudolph, two elves and a baby.  They were both superb productions and I would recommend them to anyone.  After the actors took a bow they decided to have a spontaneous dance off.

P.S. I guess James didn't get them memo about flashing the peace sign like it is a gang sign.

DQ break.

Today my neighbor and I decided we all needed an ice cream break.

DQ is always good for that.



Mambo Melon

I love nail polish!  I especially love this awesome spring color.  It is Avon Speed Dry + in Mambo Melon. (only $2.99 right now!.. No I don't sell Avon, I just really like it.) Now I think my toe nails need to be this color too.

Laughing gas

Today Ella had to have two teeth pulled.  She was really excited for a couple of reasons.  One, for the $$$ the tooth fairy would bring and two, for the laughing gas.  Boy did she get the giggles.  She had both me and the dentist laughing too.

After dinner dancing.

After having a lovely Easter dinner at my Mother-in-law's house the girls decided to do a bit of dancing.  I love that these cute cousins are such good friends. 

The Hippo came!

We do not have an Easter Bunny at our house.  Since we do Easter baskets etc. on Saturday we have a Hippo that brings our kids baskets.  Well the Easter Hippo came this year and the kids were thrilled!

Eggs

Ella, James and I colored Easter Eggs today.  Then Ella and I painted them with a golden glaze.  We always have fun doing it but it also feels like a waste because the eggs never get eaten.  Oh well! 

Wallpaper

I have so many photos (8x10's) that were just sitting in boxes or folders because I switch them out frames fairly often.  I also just have a bunch of random ones.  So I thought I would wallpaper my office with them (it is a pretty boring sand colored space and I figure I can do what I want in here.)  I did this about 6 months ago with blue tacky but the pictures all fell down so I did it again today with thumb tacks.  So there are now TONS of tiny holes in my wall.  It is OK though because If we ever do need this room for something other than my office I planned on wallpapering it anyway. 

Preschool Celebration

Since we were out of town over James's birthday we didn't get to bring treats to his class until today.  I got read the kids James's favorite book "I love you Stinky Face" and bring pictures and tell them all about James.  I also brought sprinkle covered donuts... the birthday boys request.

P.S. It has been a rough few days around here.  It has definitely had it's highlights though!  Such as Ella's recital and our visit with James's birth family.  I try not to use too many phone pictures in a row but considering this weekend I am thankful for my phone because otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get the pictures the last few days!  Here's to a goal of trying to take a few pictures this week with a real camera!

I love me a rainy day... not everyday... but today I loved it.

Lovely Sunday.

It was a beautiful day and the kids wanted to draw on the driveway with chalk.  I LOVE this drawing,  especially the blowing swirly wind.

First recital.

Ella has only had about six piano lessons.  She was the newest student to preform at her teachers yearly recital.  She was great and I was SO proud of her.  She looked way too grown up sitting at the grand piano though.

Girls Night!

Even thought Ella and I were exhausted from the trip we couldn't pass up a girls night to see "Annie".  These cute cousins were thrilled to be together having so much fun!

They had so much fun holding hands and riding rides together on this trip.  I loved it.

P.S. This was on Big Thunder Mountain... by far James's favorite ride, although he calls it "Woody's Mountain".  We rode it 3 times and each time he had more fun than the last.  He also called Space Mountain "BUZZ Mountain".  Fun kid.

Today is not James's actual birthday but we celebrated and had his "How to Train Your Dragon" cake with his cousins at Grandma's house.  We celebrated a bit early because we are leaving in the early morning for California where we will be going to DISNEYLAND!!!  The best part is that our kids have NO idea!  It is going to be beyond fun to get them up and ready in the morning and then tell them to get in the car because we are going to the airport and going to Disneyland! 

I probably won't sleep tonight.

Rat tail.

HA HA HA HA HA!

James got a haircut today and I had my Mother-in-law (the wonderful "Mahla") leave a rat tail.  I giggled about it all day just waiting for Dave to see it and have a cow.  Is it awful that I sort of like it?

Please say yes.

Prarie Schooner.

I had some gift certificates to the Prarie Schooner restaraunt, so last night we went and kicked off James 5th birthday celebration (about a week early).  It was really fun and of course the food was good... I love a great steak!  I asked the kids to pose by the stuffed wolf and this is what they gave me.  They crack me up!

LOL! I just barely noticed James left hand (A day after the origional post).  I debated weather or not to change pictures but I decided to leave it because I find it hilarious.   

Conference.

Dave and I don't go into the conference center very often for General Conference.  We usually prefer to watch from home snuggled in bed with the kids.  We went this session though because our favorite General Authority was speaking... his talk was AWESOME by the way!  So proud of him.  Afterwards we stopped and took a picture together in front of the beautiful Salt Lake Temple.

I love April Fools Day.  I always have.  Maybe it is because I like to tease and I love practical jokes.  This morning I served the kids frozen cereal and "juice" which was actually Jello and they thought it was hilarious, so they tricked Dave with the same things.  Dave took the afternoon off and we took the kids to see "HOP". 

I have such fun and awesome kids!

Note to other parents: "HOP" = NOT AWESOME

It is definitely a $1 red box rental if at all... also it swore a few times.  Grrrrr.
